![]() ![]() I find it coincidental that the original sparkle pony came out right after the two companies merged, and making $4 million in two hours didn't help. Now that the leadership from Blizzard is gone, Activision has been going full bore into transforming our Blizzard games into more Activision type games, extending time needed to accomplish the same goals (which entices people to spend more money) and to increase monetization tactics. I will give you an imaginary internet dollar if you put video from the Diablo trailer and these 2 games next to each other and can successfully point out which one is from Diablo. Go look at Endless of God (Eternal Realm) or Crusaders of Light by Netease. Now that they have the Diablo license, they can just add "Diablo" on the title screen, and boom!, game's done. Netease has years of experience with this exact type of game and all the forms of microtransactions integrated into this type of game. This style lends itself perfectly to lootboxes, RNG on RNG on RNG, microtransactions, and every "normalized" form of extortion that is absolutely rife in the mobile game format. Why would Blizzard omit this very crucial mode of gameplay just to fit it onto mobile?ĭiablo is a loot treadmill. Hardly the "ideal" format for this type of game. They cut Hardcore mode because mobile gaming is not stable enough to ensure a solid connection, and they don't want to deal with the hot mess that is people bitching about losing all the gear they bought and/or earned.
